AVATAR: 3-D

Jeff and I went to Avatar last night in celebration of my birthday. My awesome friend, Bridgette, watched the kids for us (that's a separate, amazing story on its own!!) and we had a great time. We bought our tickets online, so didn't have to worry about that. We got to the theater 1/2 hour early, like they recommended, and were glad we did. The show was sold out and every seat was full! But, we got great seats. We stopped at Walgreens on our way out and stocked my purse full of treats and got soda and popcorn there. Hey, we only go to the movies 2xs a year, so may as well go all out, right? :) The glasses weren't too bad and we had a lot of fun together.

Now for my movie review. I was impressed with the quality of effects--everything looked very real, avatars included. I really liked the main guy, Jake, and the main lady avatar, though I can't remember her name. I liked their performances and just them in general.

I thought the story was fine--the quintessential big bad boys try to take over the small, naive natives for monetary gain. Nothing new, but a nice classic.

I didn't love it and I'm not going to go join any fan club. I just hate violence. And I especially hate evil people. They really piss me off. I found the individual sacrifices of the story a little redeeming. I was glad that there were still a few good people who would sacrifice themselves to try to protect innocence.

It was a fun evening and the best part was just being out with my sweetheart, holding hands. These days, they're usually too full of kids! :)

Happy Birthday to Me!

Numerically, I'm starting to feel old. And it feels a little weird.

I'm starting to understand why old people say they don't feel old. Soon I'll be right there with them.

For now, I'm grateful for the 26 great years I've had and am looking forward to many, many more!

Cheers!

My Jeffy Doodlebug

Jeffy is growing into such a handsome little boy! He no longer is my little baby, but he forever will be my firstborn, the first little one who gave me the experience of a mother's love.

My little boy loves to laugh! He loves to play--especially anything physical. He got a basketball hoop for his birthday a few weeks ago and he LOVES it. He immediately put the ball through the hoop and now is good enough to even throw a basket! He carries the ball with him everywhere, even to bed. A few days ago he caught a ball for the first time and Daddy was ecstatic. Now catch is his favorite game.

I love how he looks for my approval and praise. He gets downright giddy when I praise him for doing something well. It is so cute! When he wants my attention and I'm distracted by something else, he comes up and puts his face right next to mine and turns my head towards him.

He is the best older brother I ever could have wished for. He loves to entertain Katelyn and tries to help feed her, although I have to watch for things that shouldn't go in her mouth. He tickles her and laughs with her, and will even share his basketball with her. It seems like they've known each other for a long time. I think they're going to be close friends.

Jeffy is so sweet and I love him dearly. I love how he gives me hugs and lets me kiss his cheek. I love how he talks in his own language and acts like I understand. I love how much he adores his daddy and even tries to walk around in his combat boots. I love his sweet little spirit. I can't wait to watch as he grows into the good, kind-hearted, strong man I know he is going to be. I'm already proud of him.

My Sweet Katelyn

How I love this sweet little baby girl. She and I have a special bond. I can't wait for her to grow up so we can be best friends. :)

She loves me. She constantly looks around to make sure I'm visible, then when she finds me, she smiles. I love her smile.

She loves Jeffy too! She very attentively watches him run around and giggles when he does something silly. He gives her hugs and kisses and she loves it.

I love that she has dark hair and dark eyes. Her eyes are the most beautiful blend of brown, green, hazel, and even a little violet. I think she is gorgeous.

She is so sweet-tempered. All she wants is to be loved and when she gets that, she's the happiest baby in the world.

Watching my two sweet babies love each other makes all the hard days more than worth it.

I love my sweet little Katelyn.

Statistics

Jeffy's Two Years Old Statistics
Height: 35 3/4 inches - 75-90 %
Weight: 32 lbs 8 oz - 75-90 %
Head Circumference: 52.5 cm - off the charts (like 150% or something)

Katelyn's Four Months Old Statistics
Height: 25 inches - 50-75 %
Weight: 15 lbs 9 oz - 75 - 90 %
Head Circumference: 42.5 cm - 75-90%

Conclusion: Jeffy has a ginormous head. No surprise there. Katelyn has gotten bigger. She was born at exactly 50% and stayed at that percentile for a while, and now is a little heftier.

Shots weren't too bad. Katelyn did great; she cried only for a moment or so. Jeffy had to get a few too and he did ok as well. It sure was a long appointment though-- 2 kids at once!

Worries

My hair is falling out . . . fast. I made an appointment with my regular doctor to get bloodwork done, but they couldn't fit me in until the 25th. After the amount of hair I lost in the shower tonight, I don't think that's soon enough. I'll be totally bald by then.

I think I'm going to call and try to get in as soon as possible.

I'm worried.

Anyone have a similar experience/advice?

I don't want to go bald.

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Jeffy is two years old today! I can't believe it. This year has just flown by. To celebrate, went to the mall's playplace and had a lunch of Chick-fil-A and Spiderman ice cream! Jeffy had a great time at the playground--it was just the right size for him and full of lots of kids his age! I think he really enjoyed it. We're going to have a small party for him on Thursday evening. More pictures then! :)

Ready, Get Set, Go!

He loves smiling at the other kids.

Climbing on the mushroom thing.

"I love playgrounds!"

Too much fun!

He looks so big and manly in this one!

Yummy fry!

Extra yummy Sprite!

Extra, extra yummy ice cream!

Oh, and sweet little Kate was there too. :)
