Back to the Springs!

Remember the Springs we visited not long ago? Well, we went on a spur-of-the-moment camping trip back to the springs. Last Saturday, Jeff went up to Idaho to get the few remaining things out of our storage unit, and of course, have a nerf war with his Rexburg buddies. The crazy guy drove up in the morning, did his stuff, and drove back that night. That's a lot of driving! And to top it off, he called me on his way home and asked if I wanted to go camping when he got home! Well, really. Who's going to turn down their husband offering to go do something fun with them? :) So, a little while later . . . off we went!

Back to Clover Springs. There aren't many campsites there, and at first we thought we were going to get stuck with a sucky one, but on our fourth trip around the loop, we found a wonderful little site that been hidden from first view. It was lovely! We had a big, level spot for the humongous tent we borrowed from Jeff's parents; nice, shady trees; a great fire pit; and best of all--the stream was right behind us!
Here come the pictures.

Our beautiful site. Like our crooked tent? Yeah, that was fun to set up.

Gotta love the Pack 'N Play. Seriously, we took that thing everywhere.

Look, there's the stream!

Our stuff.

Trying to figure out that tent. I'm sure the people next to us got a good laugh at us.

Jeffy's first spot outside wasn't exactly level, so I weighted it down with water containers.

Jeff earned himself a nickname-- The Fire Mage.

Here it is! His famous one-match fire.

The next morning. It was kind of chilly. Thank goodness all three of us had our footie pajamas!

Jeffy in his baby cage while Jeff makes breakfast.

Yay for bottles!

"Get me out of here already!!"

Daddy and son in their footie pajamas.

This is down by the stream. I told you we dragged that thing everywhere!

Our tent from the bank of the stream.

I heard the water was cold. . . .

Jeffy admiring the foliage.

That night I stuck a stick in the fire. Instead of catching on fire, the end of the stick got really hot, and we got to play with it like a sparkler! Jeff liked that one.

After we broke camp. Jeffy was the last one to get packed up! Bye bye Clover Springs!

Hooray for Chuck-A-Rama!

Yesterday after the zoo, Kimi and I hung out for a bit in Temple Square, then our Grandma and Grandpa Price took all of us to dinner. All of us would be: me, Jeff, Kimi, (her husband couldn't come), my sisters Natalie and Hilary, and my cousin, Ryan. We had a great time. It was so fun to see everyone and show off the little man. He was adorable as usual! Here come the pictures.

Kimi and Jeffy in Salt Lake.

Jeffy trying to climb up his Great Grandma Price. He sure is a squirmer!

They're cute.

Jeffy doing the new snort thing. There's Great Grandpa Price too.

Aunt Hilary! He's making a happy face in this picture! :)

Aunt Natalie. Jeffy remembered her from VA and warmed right up. She was always so nice to him and he likes her a lot.

Zoo Time!

Jeffy and I went to Utah's Hogle Zoo yesterday. We were going to meet my friend and her baby, but somehow we were all retarded and couldn't find each other. I was sad, but Jeffy and I did all the zoo stuff just the two of us.

I got Jeffy this awesome elephant hat. Lots of people commented on how impressed they were that he kept it on his head! I though it was super cute.

Side view of the silly hat.

He's started this new thing where he crunches up his nose ans does a little snort thing. So it looks like he's upset, but he's actually happy!

If you look closely, you can see a real elephant.

We even rode a carousel! Jeffrey the Elephant was riding Geoffrey the Giraffe. Hee hee.

He liked it for about the first minute.

My little chunk in front of the penguins. See them?

Jeffy trying to climb into the zebra cage. Can you find the zebra?

This elephant squirts water. It was fun to watch little kids jump when it scared them.

Towards the end of the zoo day. Jeffy getting sleepy in front of some turkey bird things.

Jeffy so tired on the train ride.

End of the day. The kid was pooped.

Oh, Crap. (Literally)

No pictures today. Too nasty.

Today started out like any other morning. Jeffy stood up in his crib and babbled at us until I got up to get him out. I could tell he needed a new diaper, so I laid him on the bed to change him. I undid the snaps at the bottom of his sleeper and found myself looking at: POOP! Everywhere!! His diaper had come apart and there was yucky brown poop all over the lower half of his body. Nasty! There's no way to clean that up without going in the tub, so I tried to carry him in a way that would get the least amount of poop on me. Gross. I finally got him upstairs and plopped him in the empty tub and tried to get his nasty pjs off. Lucky for me, it wasn't a normal sleeper, but one that had to be pulled over his head. Jeffy wasn't too thrilled about it all either, so getting that horrible thing off was pretty hard, as Jeffy got more and more agitated. When I got it off, I saw that the poor boy was covered in poop--the only clean part of him was his head. He had poop up on his shoulders, back, arms, torso, legs . . . basically everywhere. IT WAS SOOO GROSS!! Yeah, I washed and rinsed, washed and rinsed him over and over till I felt sure he was clean. I was really tempted to just throw away that sleeper, but it was new and pretty cute, so I gritted my teeth and put it in the washer, on the sanitize cycle. Usually I'm ok at dealing with messes, but this one just got me. I had to hold my nose and think about something pleasant. I just about threw up multiple times. This is the first major blowout he's had, though, in his almost 9 months of life, so I guess that's not too bad. Ew, though, it just makes me feel gross.

Poor Little Guy

Jeffy's suffering from his second cold since we've been here. This time, it got down into his lungs and he'd on antibiotics for it. He's much better now, but for a few days, life was rather unpleasant. It doesn't help that he was teething. (He got his first tooth a couple days ago.) The poor little guy couldn't breathe very well, so for naptime we propped him up on the couch to help that out as much as possible. He looked so sweet I just had to take a few pictures of him.

New Project! Yay!

I had some money to spend so I got a new project. I got some scrapbooking supplies and actually committed to making a scrapbook of Jeffy's life. I've made a few pages in the last few days with pictures that I had on hand. I'm ordering more pictures, and plan to do a few sets of pages per month of Jeffy's life. It's nice to have something worth scrapbooking again! I should have taken the pages out of the covers, but I was too lazy, so now there's a glare. Oh well!

This is the title page.
There will be a little text box in the big empty blank space in the upper right corner.

Blessing Page. Notice there's white lace behind the blue ribbon.
There will also be text in the oval in bottom left.

Other side of Blessing Page.

Cousins page. This one is missing a big picture of Clara. I need to order one, but I was in the mood to make the page, so I went ahead and did it. I'll add the picture later.

It seems like they look a lot cuter in real life than in pictures, but such is life. You're invited to come over and see them for real!

Little Climber!

Jeffy is getting really good at climbing and pulling himself up on things, but this one surprised me. I heard him growling away in the piano room and went in to get him. This is what I found:

My question is this: what did he pull himself up on?

Fun Day.

Today we visited with Grandma and Grandpa Davis again. Jeff's mom was kind enough to babysit Jeffy while we went on a little outing.

So Grandpa, Grandma, Jeff, and I went to a lovely little spot called Clover Springs. About 20 minutes away from the total desert we live in is a beautiful little oasis. Right off the road is a little spring coming out of the ground. It was nice and cool and we had a great time.

Grandpa, Grandma, and Jeff by the creek.

There were some interesting red plants under the water right by the edge. We couldn't figure out what they were, but they looked cool!

A huge dandelion. I should have put something in the picture as a reference.

A huge clover patch! Hence, "Clover Springs."

So pretty.

My sweetie.

Who knew real trees could grow in Utah's desert? :)

I like this one a lot.

It's amazing how much water came out of the little springs.

Another one.

Here's one of the springs where the water comes out of the ground.

From up on a hill.

I like this one too.
